Shaftesbury

The town of Shaftesbury is most famous for its tourist attraction of Gold Hill where the iconic Hovis advertisement was filmed.  There is a Gold Hill Museum and a lovely café to sit at the top of Gold Hill overlooking the quaint cottages and glorious countryside.   Another incredible view (whilst enjoying an early evening drink) can be found from the picturesque terrace at the back of the Mitre pub right in the centre of town.

There are a multitude of independent shops from fabulous florists to glorious grocery stores, beautiful boutiques to traditional gentlemen’s outfitters, wonderful gardening shops and exciting gift shops.  There are also a multitude of cafes, restaurants and traditional pubs to be enjoyed without even having to get into the car.
